Surprise from the cellar: 2005 Stadlmann St Laurent.

Not sure the domaine expects consumers to hold these for 8 years, but I am glad I did. On release, this was nice, frootie, with a little spice, but overall just what you'd expect: a plush, pleasant relatively simple drink. Now, with some age, it is still fruit-driven, but the spice and minerality give it a few extra dimensions. 12.5% abv and just delightful on a day like today with lunch and before dinner.

I love Stadlmann. Make sure you try the Zierfandler Mandel Hoh if you get a chance. I have some from 2005 I need to open to see how it's doing.
