WINES
Charles Heidsieck Réserve Privée '87 En Jeroboam -- Straw color, steady/persistent stream of small bubbles, lovely soft fragrance, floral notes, balanced, fresh and lively (seems younger), smooth/full/round, terrific. [E]
Lail Vineyards Georgia Sauvignon Blanc '09 -- Pale yellow, lush bouquet, light citrus, rather buttery/oaky, full bodied, no edges, well integrated, generous fruit, nuts, oak, medium complex, atypical (more like a Chardonnay), very enjoyable. [E]
Vincent Dauvissat Les Preuses Chablis Grand Cru '02 -- Light yellow, apple/citrus fruits, some saltiness, medium acidity in abeyance, nice zestiness/liveliness, good personality, nothing not to like. [E]
Aubert Sonoma Coast Lauren Vineyard Chardonnay '08 -- Medium yellow, forward aromas, apples/pineapples, some citrus, ample fruit, dense, good grip, lots of elements come together nicely. [E]
Araujo Estate Eisele Vineyard Syrah '07 En Double Magnum -- Dark red, thick bouquet, blueberries, smoke, black fruits, hints of chocolate, also some spice, large dimensions and perhaps a bit ponderous, big tannins, still young. [VG - E]
Pierre Yves Colin-Morey Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru '08 En Magnum -- Medium yellow, fleeting bouquet, citrus notes, rather muted profile, nothing objectionable but perhaps a bit short in flair/personality, expected more. [VG - E]
