I was warned not to age mondeuse. I don't know why. This was good wine: still lightweight, maybe even flyweight, but there is a dark, sauvage, meaty edge to it. I could see that getting unpleasant in large doses but, as a spice, this is a very pleasing bottle. Think venison and kirsch, emphasis on the kirsch. Good finish, too.
 
Why in the world would someone say not to age Mondeuse? Are they next going to tell you that Syrah can't age?

It's the general inclination of some of the winemakers.

I suppose that a winemaker could make a Mondeuse in such a style that it wouldn't age well, but the grape itself strikes me as one that fairly demands some time in bottle to show its best. YMMV of course.

And we know how they're always right about the drinking windows of their own wines....

Dupasquier Mondeuse does age. A couple of years ago, Cory and Guilhaume put together a dinner with magnums from 2001-8. All the wines were in fine shape.
