Wine/Tie Maker

Winemakers seem to have a thing for also making ties. Talbott and DuBoeuf come to mind as they both make top-quality ties.

The DuBoeuf Andre Claude Canova Silk Neckties have good material, length, build, and pattern.

Here's an example...

Anybody know the story as to how DuBoeuf got into the tiemaking business?

Any other examples? Seems like a big stretch to say that winemakers have a thing for making ties.

The pattern on the DuBeouf tie is actually a color representation of fructose crystals from a glass of Beaujolais Nouveau spilled onto an Ikea “Ektorp” couch in suburban Philadelphia.

Maybe it's the fleeting ephemeral effect of both being 9-letter words containing "emak".

Well, tiemaker would be nine letters if you pluralize it, anyway.

I agree, those winemaker ties are really ugly and should not be worn in public.

Georg, Are you including the DuBoeuf tie in that assessment?

I have only worn it once. It got numerous (I assume genuine) compliments...plus my persnickety wife likes it!?!
