Him and me both, though I hate to hear it was Sandy related. At least you got there ten days ago.

As for Veritas, what an insane list they had with great prices when they first opened.
 
Had one of my most insane wine nights there sitting at the bar. When one of the owners ended up a couple stools down and shared whatever he had that night with my friend and I. Which was special for us, likely just another night for him. Probably went there 8-10 times overall, each time enjoyable and well worth the price of admission. Especially at the beginning. That's life.
 
I made one attempt to go to Veritas (with Jeff as it happens) not too long after they opened. They had a kitchen fire and weren't open that night.

Never made it back.

Jim took me there for my birthday in 1999. We drank a 1982 barolo that was very slightly maderized.
 
I was going to say, that's what happens when you stop agreeing to ship the empties back, but the linked article says that it's a landlord issue and they're looking for someplace else to phoenix.
 
The vision of Steve Verlin and Russian hookers will forever taint my memory. RIP Veritas (and Soul Flavors).
