You know, I have actually been to Tao in Las Vegas. It was a requirement of attending a friend's bachelor party. We are no longer that close.
 
A lurker writes to ask if I am no longer close with the friend because he made us go to Tao for his bachelor party. I would say that his choice of Tao was emblematic of his general life disposition, so although not directly related to our friendship, it speaks to our divergence of opinion on what is enjoyable and worthwhile. That divergence of opinion is one reason we are no longer close.
