That does sound more like the 2010 than the 2011 to me. One of the things that surprised me about the 2011 was that the usual forbidding structure wasn't a factor at all.

I just greatly enjoyed reading the soyouwanttobeasommelier Roddolo visit and will certainly give the dolcetto a try. Not sure if you're meant to read between the lines about the ageability of the different vintages but the verdict certainly seems to be positive on the 1996.
