WTF: '97 Niepoort Vintage Port

This was so good on release but now it is all VA and vegetables. Is it just my bottles? What happened here? Will it ever come back into focus? Also all the bottles are leaking while other Port stored right next to it are fine.
 
I've opened six 375s of this over the last five years or so, the last one maybe a little over a year ago, and it always seemed very primary, no VA or veggies.
 
This is a report that says that Niepoort himself thinks the '97s have bacteriological and volatility problems. (Scroll about halfway down, or search for "1997".)

The fourth post in this jibber-jabber reports that Niepoort said that bottles with bad corks are susceptible to the bact. and vola. problems.
 
The leaking issue popped up shortly after release. The last one I opened was quite tasty, though it was at least five years ago. all mine have leaked. I think I have 111 or 12 bottles left.

I see. Thanks, Jeff.

600 of my remaining 800 bottles are from a separate purchase, in an unopened crate. Maybe they will fare better.
