Thomas Labaille '11 Buster - Delicious and vibrant, with a little sour. Wait.

Ant Hill Farms '10 Dumuth PN - On opening the fruit was surprisingly forward, but not over-ripe. After a few minutes of air it settles down and was lovely. Pretty red fruits and great acid, really light tannins. Not complex, but a beauty.

more Riesling tonight; but many fewer. '03 Donnhoff Brucke spat!! awesome. 76 domprobst BA from Willi S. really great; a most nimble and complex BA. (Christoff's birth year, so they have a decent amount in the library, apparently, but I have to believe he meant in general; not the BA specifically.)

1998 Selbach Olster Zeltiinger Sonnenuhr Spatlese*

1971 JJ Prum TBA - incredibly fresh. I opened it at home to make sure it was not corked and tasted a sip and the taste lingered for an hour

1971 JJ Prum Auslese WS Auslese

2008 Keller Absterde and G-MAX - Absterde was like drinking and smelling crushed rocks mixed with cocaine. Absterde was better than the G-MAX on this night

2006 Keller G-Max - Surprisingly open and floral. Double decanted 12 hours before serving

1998 Von Kesselstatt Riesling Kabinett Piesporter Goldtröpfchen

I need to go through all the label pics we made in order to bring any sense in this evening, but I do remember that ice wine. Thankfully I tried it really late since after that I was done with wine for that evening. The acidity was so brutal I thought my stomach would dissolve (and my teeth were aching for hours).

I also remember a Egon Mueller 1971 Auslese which has been a dream of mine to try for many years. So obviously it was dead on arrival.

Apart from Lauer 64 I also remember 2004 Kern as quite lovely.

01 fred emile 375 anniversary - great showing, not a hint of pox, wonderful classic nose, if abv was a touch lower this would be perfection
10 schafer-frohlich felseneck GG magnum
11 schaefer graacher himmelreich Kab magnum - open but will continue to develop
94 von schubert abtsberg spatlese trocken - lovely but I preferred the 90 version of the same last year, this is archetypal german trocken on the palate despite glorious floral aromas

02 donnhoff oberhauser brucke spatlese - everything you could ask for, and yet not the texture of the 97, although Kirk started doing cartwheels when it got some air, but mine was long gone

felettig '08 Les Carrieres tonight. body is going through withdrawal shakes; no riesling (knauss "G") since lunch.
