Hello,
We made a very nice dinner at the TGJP in Paris last friday with Cole K., some "alouettes sans tete" and 6 reds north rhone 2001 (Faurie, Jamet, Juge, Ogier & Burgaud) and 3 whites (De Moor & Richard Leroy). See
www.tgjp.com
Ask any questions on the forum and I will try to answer.
Best regards

"La rencontre soufflé-syrah s’inscrit dans une parfaite harmonie."

This is nice to hear. I imagine it helps that you had Cote Rotie with a bit of age for the syrah. Because I would have been worried about the wine being too heavy for the texture of the souffle. And I say this as someone who often drinks red wines with lighter meat-less dishes.

If only I made souffles, I might try this!

I was surprised by this, too.

I would have been tempted by many white wines ahead of the syrah.

At the tgjp white wine is for appetizers. Two bits pab omitted:

--A long discussion of how "Flanby" was not really in any political trouble (though this was before today's "C'est fini" headline).

--Our Italian representative was largely unaware of how good homemade mayonnaise can be, and there was a brief interlude where two tgjp members each whipped up their own mayo and they were tasted single blind. Perhaps pab can comment on the mayo/syrah accord...

The Juge Cornas SC was really good and still has plenty of life.

Wow. Who buys mayonnaise?

Pshaw. Duke's is the only way to a righteous BLT.

I bet Kane doesn't use Duke's.
