New restaurants in Paris

Thanks for the link. I'll be in Paris from May 16-19. Also, May 8 when we fly in. We have a dinner reservation at Spring on the 17th. Also, planning for Septime on the 16th. Hopefully, the folks I know who have in's there will be able to come through. Sunday lunch and dinner will be the most challenging. I'll use the Paris by Mouth Sunday dining guide. Yam'tcha sounds intriguing for that day.

Any dining recommmendations near Gare de Lyon? We're going to stay there on arrival night so as to make it easy to catch the TGV the next day. Nothing too elaborate as we'll have just been on a 10+ hour flight.

Clamato is very good and open on Saturday and Sunday. Septime La Cave is also across the street and they have nice snacks (the sardines are soaked in Occhipinti

Bones is excellent but a bit of a scene.

Frenchie to go is ok if you want a lobster roll or fish & chips in Paris.

The new restaurants they did not mention is the new Les Enfants Rouge which was bought a Japanese Chef (Dai) who trained under Yves Camdeborde.

Robert, have you had a chance to go to the new ER? I'm curious about it.

Also curious if they still have as great a wine list as when the food was more ho-hum.

I tried in December and they were booked solid. A good friend who is a food writer and personal friend of Yves recommended it strongly. She goes there 2-3 times per week. She did say that it is very noisy. Not sure about the wine. I stopped in because I was staying nearby and they have shined the place up a bit.

My ears perked up when François Simon listed it as one of his top five favorite restaurants earlier in the fall.

Surely there is nothing left to drink (except younger of the same, if they still have good taste); they were already last-bottling a bit a couple of years ago.

Sad times.

Yam'Tch is outstanding - ate there twice last year and it was close to my meal of the year.

I also really dig Roseval for overall quality, food, wine

For Sunday lunch I would suggest Clamato and for dinner Le Verre Vole, the aforementioned Les Enfant Rouges or for something casual Le Mary Celeste. I had an excellent meal there sitting at the bar and drinking well.

Trou Gascon in the 12th ( right by the Daumesnil metro) is not all that far from GdL and is really great. Honest. traditional. Not elaborate. Good list. very fairly priced.
