Per Decanter, Hollande was served the following at the White House last night. I haven't heard of any of them.

* Thibaut-Janisson's sparkling 'Blanc de Chardonnay' from Monticello, Virginia [vintage unknown]

*Morlet Family Vineyards' 'La Proportion Doree' 2011 from Sonoma County, a white blend of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and a small amount of Muscadelle.

*Long Shadows Vintnerss' Chester-Kidder Red Blend 2009 from Columbia Valley, Washington, a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, with Syrah, Petit Verdot and Cabernet France [sic].

The Morlet wines are distributed by Polaner locally. Nice, if pricey, examples of Cali juice.

The Thibaut Janisson sparkling wines are pretty good. I had a chance to try a few when I was working in VA. In fact, VA does better than expected with sparkling wine. I believe Claude Thibaut is the consulting sparkling winemaker (or the actual sparkling winemaker) for many of the Central VA sparkling wines, though Trump (nee Kluge) has their own sparkling wine setup.
