Excellent pairing with pot roast and fennel/onion gratin.

Richard, I was served those at a function the other night and really liked them. My sense is that they would be a homerun if served with this Sizeranne.

Now another sampling 8 years later and the notes are basically the same albeit with slightly more evolved dimensions.

Really a delight with roast pork shoulder (Boston butt) and spruced up potato salad, then butterfingers and blueberries.

P.S.
In colonial New England, butchers packed inexpensive cuts of meat into large barrels, called butts, for storage and transportation. The shoulder meat packed into these barrels became known as pork butt, and the name stuck.

I am a big fan of the 91 vintage in the northern rhone, although my encounters with the wines are becoming alarmingly infrequent.
 
Tristan, in my experience, the search function has appeared to work fairly well if the subject matter is not embedded in a long, disjointed thread.

Pavel, agreed on the favorable '91 Rhone vintage generality. Alas, this was my last bottle from the '91 vintage as they have been easy to drink up.
