I had this wine in the summer of 2012 and yes, it was quite fresh and excellent and seemed far from expiring. Our bottle had been checked and re-corked by the winery within a year or two prior.
I wasn't really following Oregon vintages in the mid 90s. I have heard it was a warm one, but I don't think it was the disaster of 2003, or even as bad as 2006 which was very ripe and has not aged well in my experience. I've had 1994s from Evesham Wood, and Domaine Drouhin in the past year that have been very good, still with fruit, no alcohol showing etc. Perhaps had to do with age of vines in 1994, and certainly grower/producer. I'm not a huge fan of Domaine Drouhin Oregon, but i've had wines of theirs from the 80s over the last few years that have still had a fair amount to show. And that can be so very hard to say about domestic wines.
So I would guess no hurry on the 2002. Sad to say I have almost no 2002 Oregon pinot left, just a couple bottles each from DDO and St. Innocent.
