Distributor Lookup in CA

In Virginia, it was very easy to find which distributor carried a brand/importer portfolio. The VA ABC Franchise Designation lookup is a great tool.

Is there such a tool in California? In VA a distributor gets exclusive rights to a brand for a geographical area - I'm not sure that it is the same in CA.

I'm looking to see who distributes Louis/Dressner around Sacramento.

I would suggest that you make use of Sevenfifty.com I should also note that Sevenfifty is the sponsor of my podcast show.

Sevenfifty hasn't taken over out here yet, I'm sure it will in time.

My understanding is that it has been active in California for some time, although maybe not?

Sevenfifty will be a marvelous tool for all those who know this world and know what they want. And sommeliers everywhere will be free to deal with as many distributors as they like, without the attendant headaches. Yes, indeed.

The other 95% are looking for a $7 Chardonnay. And there's the whole every-state-is-like-its-own-country business with distribution rules.

And as an old friend on the distributor side says: "They'll be able to buy just as much as they need. My job is to sell them more."
