Vif continues to evolve as one of the cultural centers of Seattle. Last week for vinyl night Bill Frisell showed up to spin some disks. Now some of the leading winemakers of France.

Putting things over the top, the Narwhal oyster truck will be on hand.

Get on down there and have some good times!!!! Fly from New York, add to your carbon footprint, and throw the future to the wind!

We will be there the whole time.
 
Thanks for the heads up, this wasn't on my radar. The False Prophets of Doom Tour I take it.

Hoping to find some archetypes for those 'emaciated, excessively acidic, hollow wines' from Napa i've been reading about here lately.

I guess cross thread jokes don't go over very well. Referring to Pab chastising him as not being a "real vigneron" for having free time in March. (not that pouring wines around the world is really free time...)
er...nevermind. Wish I could be there. Should be a grand time.
 
Well that was fun.

Thanks Shawn and Lauren, and of course LDM and the winemakers.

The wines were all very good, you could really just pick any of them by throwing darts and do very well.

Eric's white Cotes du Rhone goes nicely with Hama Hama oysters, which I wouldn't have known before yesterday.
 
It was real fun. It was great to see JP and meet Eric, Franck, and Remi. I brought an 01 and 05 Brezeme VV/Perigault which were drinking well and fun to share with Eric. Seemed like they were all enjoying the US. Eric it was great to meet you, thanks for sharing and hanging out.
 
Brad, thanks for bringing the older wines. They did show well, and were certainly nice to have along with all the young stuff. I was unfamiliar with the Peillot wines and liked both the Montagnieu Brut, and the Altesse.

I managed to get a minute or two with Shawn and thanked her profusely for hosting the event. God knows there are no end of Seattle wine events featuring dozens to even hundreds of wineries but very little worth tasting can be found. This sort of event is all too rare up here.
