Huet 2002 wiki

Well, not really a wiki, but perhaps a place to keep track of people's experiences with premox in these wines.

I'd be very interested to hear from our European comrades, to help understand the role of shipping.

This week, a 2002 LHL sec had light p'ox. Drinkable, but damaged. LHL demi was better, but a slight bit off.

OTOH, 1st release petillant is everything one would wish.

I would hasten to add that posting where the wine was consumed and any known history about the bottle would be helpful.

Jay Miller opened three '02 Huet yesterday at Chelsea, all premoxed. One LHL Sec and two LHL demi-sec. He wasn't entirely sure where he purchased them, but he thought Chambers St. I did notice the back labels were in French and I was under the impression that Chadderdon had english back labels, but I'm not positive about this.

It will be interesting to me to see if Moelleux and Cuvee Constance fare better better than sec and demi-sec.

My own contribution: a 1ere trie Moelluex Clos du Bourg '02 was excellent a year ago. I don't remember the importer strip. I have another waiting and will look at the strip. Purchased at Sam's.

I haven't experienced any issues with the '02 sweeties, nor have I seen any reports of problems. The sugar should keep them safe.

Anybody have any recent experience with the '02 Petillant "reserve"? I'd been assuming it was better to keep them buried in the cellar, but perhaps this is wrong?

They seem to be going the way of the pox, in my experience.

I always found that Réserve a little clumsy, but that won't surprise you....

We had a sound bottle of 02 Reserve (from RWC) last week. A few months ago we opened one from Crush and it was dead.
