Eating in Gothenburg

SFJoe

Joe Dougherty
Anyone have any leads in Gothenburg? I may be there for a couple of days this summer. Mostly for work, but any must-see tourism?

Jason, Good work! Joe should fare well.

Except, I noticed that the wine lists seem to be hard (impossible?) to find. Surely, Nebraska is a fount of fine wines.

. . . . Pete

Sometimes I wonder if the joke is on us. But then it all goes down so straight.

Still, it is evidence that Dressner remains with us in some shape or fashion.

I don't have as many opportunities to visit Nebraska as I did years ago.

This one's Sweden.

Levi, I would love to know more.

J, let me know if you get your hands on a really fast boat while in G

[edited] then the stories of VFB will supercede those of VFC, of course

If I get a really fast boat, where should I go? Oslo? Copenhagen? Kronstadt?

if the boat makes it Kronstadt, I'll have to set you up with one of those homestay meals that were recommended in the Tbilisi thread

Mikael Nypelius, Restaurang Bhoga. Highly recommend your saying hi to him. Should be a good visit.

It turns out that the podcast is very popular in Sweden, so he will also be familiar with people that you know, such as Patrick and Pascaline.

Hey look would you rather I just said "The food in restaurants sucks"

I mean be a dick about it, but at least I've been there and am trying to be helpful.

WHAT ???

Gothenburg, Sweden clearly has its branding work cut out for it.

But that's where I'll be.

Though Runza is apparently on the menu in both.

Will try do do that, thanks.

Marvels of the modern world.

I went a few years ago to Sjomagasinet, which was excellent. (Incredible herring platter.) R.W. Apple Jr. mentioned it in the last article he filed for the Times. The Bohuslän coast is very scenic to drive along and good for hikes as long as the weather cooperates. There are some pretty islands to take ferries to, too. I didn't think there was so much to see in Gothenburg itself. The train ride to Copenhagen isn't all that long, though.

Well, there is also the 37th meeting of the European Cystic Fibrosis Society.

You don't get that every day.
