I happen to have a free evening in Cleveland this week.
Any recommendations for good food and/or drink?

Thank you!

Georg

Haven't been to Cleveland, so can't personally pass along food and drink recs, but have interviewed chef Jonathan Sawyer who owns a number of restaurants there (including Greenhouse Tavern) -- he gave us his Cleveland eating and drinking guide. Which you can find here. Hope this helps.

That should do it for one evening.

Georg,

The West Side Market is worth a look. Best paprika I have come across is sold by one of the vendors.

This place is a little less touristy and a little more local than most of these places tend to be.

Is touristy really a problem in Cleveland?

My three years in Cleveland were decades ago, so no help for Georg.
When we moved there in 1974 we asked people where we could find a good restaurant and the answer was usually "Cincinnati."

To give you an idea, the consensus best French restauarant was called The Wagon Wheel.

There were some pretty good Czechoslovakian (it existed then) restaurants though.

I'm sure things are much better now.
