"by Kevin McKenna."

No matchy da signature at da bottom, mon.

Have a look at the top, just after the first pic.

I think Jules runs the website.

I don't think Jules has a decades-long perspective on the biz.

Les Oranges Violets, or something like that.

If someone wouldn't mind PMing me the name of the NY and California "selectors" mentioned in the article I would be thankful.

There is much sturm and drang going on over this on the Berserker board. The received wisdom there is that the villain of the piece is Lyle Fass. I don't keep up enough to know.

I also took the piece to be written by Jules because of the signature and was confused about the part about how it was back in the good old days. Attributing it to Kevin McKenna makes sense, but I agree with Jeff that that's not what it looks like.

Just checked out the thread on the Berserker board and found the absence of group-think utterly bewildering. Sigh, there's no place like (the Borg) home.

I guessed it was this guy

From the internal textual evidence, I don't see anyone on that importer's list of producers who is 1) a "long-time friend" of LDM; and 2) female, but maybe I don't read with enough care.

Cross posted from the other board:

I laughed out loud when I saw today that Lyle is now offering a "Cuvée Ozzie."

"What is a Cuvee Ozzie? It's a wine that is distinctive, small production and absolutely so fantastic that I want to put my name on it (well, the name of my beloved 20 year old cat)."

Of course, it is 300 cases, which is much higher than the Cuvée Buster threshold. I would have thought that a cat would be more discerning, but what do I know? I would love to see if the label is a knock off.
