I need therapy for my disorder. Or something like that.
I've come down with a massive cold, complete with throbbing headache and (most importantly) completely blocked nose, while visiting Rome.
Yesterday was my final dinner and I was at a lovely and delicious little place, Cesare al Casaletto, with an extremely tempting list. Recent releases from all sorts of 'cool' producers from around the country for prices in the teens or twenties. And then a few slightly older bottles like ar pe pe from 2001 and 2005 (one of which was Vigna Regina) for 41 euros, or 2008 and 2007 Emidio Pepe Montepulciano for 38 euros.
I arrived before my companion and sat perusing the list trying to concoct a logical reason why I should be ordering wine. But the pain was so intense that I could barely see straight, so there was really no justification. But it was tempting.
Oh well, I will live again to drink another day!
