DC Amusements: Ripple dinner

Thanks to the search function, I identified Ripple as the location for a meeting prior to a trip over to the TTB to discuss mead labeling.

Marjorie, Danny and staff did a bang up job. Delightful wine list, and I was sad that I did not have more capacity to imbibe. I had the pork shoulder, which was delicious, and we shared a bottle of Burgaud Cuvée James '12 with the meal. It was delicious, and not at all indicative of going to bed any time soon. We also brought in a few meads and paid the corkage. We had a Sky River Solas and a bottle of my Black Agnes. Not sure what the staff thought (they may have been courteous and laughing us out in the back room), but the meads paired nicely with the bacon pecans, a creamy blue cheese and the chocolate hazelnut tart. I'll be back. We're not done with the TTB by a long shot, so we'll have a few opportunities to sample Marjorie's wares.

Hard to make decisions in there. Some trophies, which I am sure has to be given the zip code, but a lot of very solid, intelligent and very well-priced temptations. I wanted to get one of the Edmunds offerings, but the rest of my party wanted to drink mead. I'll be back.
