What NOT to do if you are running for Governor

This piece probably says more about the Sun-Times than it does the state of Illinois' gubernatorial campaign. The story this morning is Rauner's 8-pont lead in the polls over Quinn - it will take more than pointing our Rauner's bad taste in wine to turn that around.

I thought someone was rehashing the Spitzer chronicles.
It is pretty amazing what public officials can and will do and try to hide to run for and then preserve themselves for any elected orifice office.

I recall reading stories of Bloomberg pouring glasses of Haut Brion for his guests at some meeting shortly after his first election as Mayor. I guess if you're on record as being really filthy rich, the rules are different.

I've just been catching up on some old threads and already miss Joe's trenchant remarks in this one. Sorry to wax gloomy, but it's hard to shake the absence of his presence.
