vatan clos neore 2012. . .

Yes, last night at Racines.

Pretty exceptional wine. This began rather taut, and nothing like any Sauvignon Blanc I've ever had, none of the herbal lift I was expecting, more like liquid rocks but with a smooth texture. With air, the tautness experienced some release, the wine broadened and took on very interesting nuances of white meringue, and salted creme fraiche. Long finish with plenty of acidity. This was really unique.

asher--thanks for the reply. they've been a holy grail sancerre for a long time, and i was figuring that the 2012 was going to be quite something.

Really expensive this year, another 10% increase.

Noel might have some available at Cave Taureau if you get shut out elsewhere.

Just got ours delivered to Rue Cler today. I may try a bottle tonight.

Totally forgot that was your place, Nathan, have a good friend who eats there often. If you had that wine list in Dallas, you'd have to kick me out of the place pretty often.
