Somebody asked me about a Gilt in the Palace hotel. I'm not familiar, what say the people here?

$10 for a bowl of Frosted Flakes and $26 for a bagel with cream cheese and lox. For this they closed Gilt.

Lovely building. This lovely painting was once inside the space now used (or not used?) by the restaurant. It is one of my favorite paintings that I've had a chance to research.

I was there about a year ago, right before they opened for lunch and dinner. Magnificent space but it felt odd to be eating breakfast while sitting next to an aquarium-like wine cave filled with a whole lot of bottles I'd have wanted to drink. I inquired about the possibility of ordering a breakfast Morgon (Lapierre )but they said they hadn't hired a wine director yet so they wouldn't know what to charge (my offer of $20 cash was declined)

-Eden (the breakfast menu was actually quite good -- I did NOT order the Frosted Flakes -- with the in-house bread a highlight)
