A lovely, and taut, bottle of 2009 Bérêche Vallée de la Marne Rive Gauche last night with Peter Liem whisked away my fears of that warm year. (And it's 100% meunier.)
Had the 2009 Rive Gauche and Beaux Regards side by side about a week ago for dinner. The RG is much more approachable now, but the precision and cut on the Regards was remarkable and over the longer term I suspect it will be the better fizz. Both wines were better on day 2.
Some of my favorite fizz, especially Rive Gauche. I sampled those two '09s about a year ago and thereafter moved them to the darkest corner of the cellar.
