For some reason 2004 is a great vintage for Bourgogne rouge, much better than 05.

Not the Leroy. Greenie green green green

Not the last 2 bottles i've had. Turned gorgeous.

Seconded. My last, some two years ago, was fantastic.

That bodes well for the eventual evolution of 04s

My last one was over a decade ago and was in my personal top ten for GMs

I it's difficult to discuss greenness in wines since perceptions differ so markedly. Ive found that I'm not particularly sensitive and have enjoyed most of the '04s that I've tasted, but others have found those wines offputtingly green. I also tolerate Brett better than most but don't know if they're connected.

Ditto on the '05 Lafarge. It's like the stuff is pissed off that I bought it.

We opened a batch of 2002 Lafarge Bourgogne around 10 years old, when they were just starting to open and becoming really beautiful - exceptionally so for a regional. '05 should take longer, ceteris paribus. I would counsel patience.
