Puffeney quits???

Has anyone had the Dom. du Pelican wines? I realize that there's only one vintage to base a judgment on, but I have no serious objection to d'Angerville Volnays (still waiting for those '98 Caillerets to come around, tho). Agreed that I don't need any Volnay from the Arbois, too.

Good wines but there are lots of other similar wines. But only one Puffeney.

I love the Volnays, and, given the alternatives, this is not bad news. It's just sad that he couldn't have passed this down or handed it off to someone local, or someone he trained. I gather Gahier lost out in the bidding, which is really too bad.
