1999 Domaine aux Moines, Roche aux Moines showed up in a wine shop, I guess a recent re-release from the domaine, and I couldn't resist. Drinking beautifully with wet wool, wax, honey and very fine balance. Dry chenin blanc burnished by age. Three days open and only getting better. '99 in the Loire can be hit or miss but I'm finding a lot of hits these days from Savennieres and Muscadet as well.

Vincent, no idea about '02 moelleux. I've only come across a couple moelleux Savennieres in my life and neither were very sweet so my guess would be off-dry.

I'm pretty sure I've had the '95 and '97 Bise Clos de Coulaine Doux with you. Pretty darn sweet.

Fwiw, I seem to recall the '02 Domaine aux Moines Cuvee des Nonnes being on the lighter side of moelleux on release.

Count me as not impressed at all with most '99 Loire whites, especially Chenin, due to the rot. Baumard's QDC was pretty decent, though.

I think the key is holding onto them for too long. The last glass, last night, was best.

Brad, Bise wines tend towards the extreme.
