I was at ESJ's Fete du Vin on Sunday. I don't think I need to tell you how terrific '13 Rocks & Gravel and '12 Fenaughty Syrah are. I'm thankful Steve didn't bottle these wines in magnum. I would have bought one and when looking at the actuarial tables and how Steve's wines age...
But I digress.
Lusu Cellars was also pouring at the event. I asked FL Jim what he knew about them (him). He had never heard of them, but he told me quite emphatically to taste the '12 Eldorado County Zinfandel from Single Leaf Vineyard. Wonderful wine. 13.9%. Great aromatics and balance. Really tastes like Zin. It also got a big thumbs-up from Hank Beckmeyer.
