2007 Rhys Alpine Chardonnay

Jay,
You seem to keep up with this producer pretty well.
I have gradually come to think of the wines under the Rhys label as needing considerably more aging than one might first expect. Exceptions, yes; but as a general rule . . .
Thoughts?
Best, Jim

But what did you "first expect"?

Not more than I first expected, but they certainly benefit considerably with time and most are nowhere near ready.

The 2004 Home is drinking really well at the moment but I don't know that any other reds can be considered ready. This chardonnay is still very young.
