Pinon alert

Jay Miller

Jay Miller
Chambers St. has a few bottles (fewer after my order) of the 2013 Pinon Vouvray in stock.

My habit of checking daily to see if the 1994 and 1997 Secs were in yet has paid off.

I recently picked one up from Jill at DomaineLA in Los Angeles. It appears that they still have some in stock.

Thanks Jay I now have four more chances to drink this, woohoo!

btw 2005 botrytis is deeply asleep. Ten days ago I double decanted a 500 and did the Mollydooker shake. Been drinking a bit every two or three days. Tonight the acidity is finally, finally brightening the wine up. Have a little more left for day eleven. Of course, the last sip will probably be the best. Leave this one alone!

Thanks for the warning. I need to redo my cellar and bury my bottles in the back.

That Clisson didn't last long (still some magnums). I guess everyone who didn't lay down enough 2012 Briords jumped on it. Not that I'm projecting or anything.

Anyone tried the Quatre yet?

Just a few bottles of 1994 and 1997 Pinon Sec are currently available on the CSW website. Hopefully Jay has kept up his habit of checking daily...

I've given up on Chambers. It seems they never have anything in stock that I want or are sold thru in an instant. The store has become a little too hip, getting the kind of play an out-of-state politician can command from deep-pocketed funders.

I bought mine weeks ago. Both are very good to great, the 1994 was best on opening, the 1997 kept developing. The 1997 was too dry for Brad.

Yes, it was. I find the '97 Tradition much better. Now the '90 sec that Pinon brought to the vigneron dinner at Joe's in '12, was much better, imo.

You must have very strict purchasing criteria!

Everytime I look at Chambers' website it's a long long list of wines I would love to drink.

Part of our business model is "hey, if Chambers is out, give us a call!"

09 Silex seemed so much sweeter than it did a year ago

but this makes sense - it was always really well balanced, and I've not had a vouvray sec in 09 that was.
