There have been many lamentations over the modern state of German kabinetts. With the onslaught of global warming kabinetts now taste like spatleses... Well, tonight I tried for the first time a 2007 Mosbacher Forster kabinett and it was fantastic. Wonderful minerality and ripe fruit with searing acidity that plays with the back of your tongue (9.1 grams to temper the 35 grams rs). The greatest part though, it tastes like a kabinett!! And, its only $20...
