2007 Desvignes Beaujolais Morgon Javernieres
Improved and clarified since the last bottles: it's clear, with scalpel-like acidity, fine tannins, and good fruit in proportion. A very fine, high-acid wine, from any appelation. Don't know if the last bottle was flawed or transitioning an rough developmental stage, which I'm starting to recognize in good cru Beaujolais, where the wine is murky and odd.
2002 Luneau-Papin Muscadet Excelsior Poyet
Drop-dead gorgeous. Last bottles have been good, but this was exceptional: so round, integrated, well-proportioned, smooth. One of the best whites I've opened in a year.
Ghostwriter Pinot Noir 2012
I think this was the Belle Farms; didn't take a note while drinking, but liked this quite a bit - no spoof or syrup, good sincerity, reasonable weight (@ 13.5 abv). Showed the variety to good advantage, with enough body to pair versatiely with different foods.
Rollin 2010 Pernand Vergelesses Ile de Verglesses
This was one of the nicest young P-Vs 1ers I've opened, almost delicate, very charming, delightful fruit. Not complex - too young - but a total charmer.
