The best damn Chinon I've had in a long while, maybe ever

97 Joguet Dioterie. Electric Avenue. Ash, cinnamon, earth, fallen leaves, deeply complex. Did Charles make this or was he gone by then?

Up there with the best Rougeards I've had.

Amazingly, the Mme was meh on it. Unusual, but life is unpredictable.

This brings up an idea. Let's plan a Cab Franc dinner. Young stuff, aged stuff, old favorites, new options, the Loire and beyond.

Lets pick a slow night for restaurants, Sunday or Monday, and go early.

Diner or Romans or Reynard.

Who's in???

Sounds like a great idea. I still have a '96 or '97 Croix Boissee hiding somewhere in storage that I could dig out for something like this

Surprising, Brad, as the period from '91 until the early/mid-aughts is known as a very difficult time for the domaine.

Make it Rue Cler and I'm in.

Love the idea of doing this at Racines on a Monday if people are willing to do this in Manhattan. Had a magnificent '95 Breton Clos Senechal there last night.
