The best damn Chinon I've had in a long while, maybe ever

I'm bringing a '90 Olga Raffault and I believe Ben said he'd bring in the '89. Here's what Jay said, "I'll try for my '96 Croix Boisee but it's buried in the back of the top shelf. If I don't have time to get it out I'll have to go with something else, probably from 2005 or 2006."

'02 Franc de Pied and '05 Clos Senechal. Whats your story Zack? I was up at 6:30 am to finish painting the *********** just so I could attend this event.

Got an old friend in town, sudden notice. Would love to drink Breton with you but alas.

1997 Croix Boissee
The last bottle from a batch I bought when the vlm mentioned seeing a bunch of 1996s and 1997s in the early days of wine therapy.

Bring him/her along. It seems we have room.

Oops, make that a 1996 croix

Should I bring a dry Riesling or a Champagne to start?

I vote Riesling, so long as it doesn't say trocken, halbtrocken or Großes Gewächs on the label. :-)

I'm also bringing a Moelleux from the same vintage as my Raffault.

IIRC it's a 2005 Nigl Privat

Knowing the kind of Champagne you are likely to bring, I vote Champagne.

Just to update for this Monday, the 23rd, at Racines, I bumped into Scott at the Bowler tasting and he has to go to CA and will miss the dinner, but he has a replacement. Below is the updated list. Just to remind everyone, 7:00 pm, resy is under Scott's name for ten people and there's no need to bring stems.

Jay Miller
Jeff Grossman
Cesar Castro-Pou
Don & Melissa Rice (Don arriving by 8:00 pm)
Brad Kane
Pascaline Lepeltier
Ben Hunting
Jason Adams

Edited. Mistakenly had Karen for NY when she's CA. We have a spot open for Monday, if anyone's interested.

Brad, I won't be able to make it. Look forward to hopefully attending the next one.

Sorry you can't make it, Cesar.

Looks like we're eight.

We had a pretty great jeebus last night. I think Jeff and Jay took notes.

Here's the lineup, minus the '05 Nigl and '90 Huet LHL Moelleux.

It took over 15 years but we finally converted Brad.

Oh, I always liked the riper ones and the really old ones. It's their youthful greenness that I'm not much of a fan of.
