Opened the '98 Cornas this eve. (actually had to open 2, b/c the first was well and truly corked.)
David Schildknecht sent me to this wine, if i recall correctly -- Vintner Select from Cincinnati was the importer. A beautiful 12.5% abv. relatively soft at this point, but elegant and long, long in the mouth, w/ sort of a cherry note with earth and minerals. A very polite, delicious Cornas. Not overly fruity; not overly spicey. A Goldilocks/baby bear sort of "just right." I don't think i was offered later vintages of this, but damn it's good.
