wine like this or wine like that

So I finally worked my way to a list of his STGT wines. Some I like. Others I do not as much. Some, like the 03 Vieux Donjon, just baffle me. If I wanted to see whether I wanted to visit a place, I don't think I could use him as a basis any more than any of the others.

Well, I tried. His method works for me more often than not, so I listen, as I do among the other voices here, yours included.

So here is my current, very confined, go to list:

Pegau
Vieux Telegraphe
Eddie Feraud
Charvin
Ferrand
Mourre du Tendre.
Pierre Andre (when I find it and it can be variable).

There are others I drink, but my buying is almost down to this. You can now judge whether you want to trust me.

no banneret or lucien barrot?

I like Banneret quite a bit and there is some in my cellar. But it's expensive in the US. I have had very nice Barrots and I have no stylistic objections, but I do find them variable as well.

I note, though, that I left out Bois de Boursan (the regular and strenuously not the Cuvee Felix). This is why you shouldn't trust my lists. I just forget things.

Something happened to VT, Other Prof? And no Beaucastel?

Mark Lipton

VT I like. If you are asking about VD, yes, it became a Cambie wine--at least from 03 to O6. After that, I stopped tracking. Beaucastel is a taste judgement. They cleaned up their cellars at some point in the late 90s. I bought through 01, because you really can't tell when they are young. But they just became less interesting to me. I expect the brett averse may like them better.

No, I was referring to Vieux Telegraphe. That's one of the domaines I still buy. I know what you mean about Beaucastel, as I am also fairly Brett-tolerant.

Look back at my first list. You'll find Vieux Telegraphe there.

Now that I know what it is, I still need the question--or probably the joke--explained to me. Oh Chris, where are you when we need you?

Here, until the cock crows thrice.

I remember when you had your hair like that, Chris. Freaked me out then as it does now.

When I wake up, it's always back. I have to re-cut it every day now.

You're not using the ectoplasm shears that Lisa got you for Xmas, right? There's a reason behind every gift, especially with those science types....

Those fell behind the couch in April. I blame the cats. Such a hassle to move furniture. Seriously.
