Hiatus Concluded?

Mark Levesque
After years of being off wine forums (e.g. Garr's wine page, Wine Therapy), my local wine merchant was on a trip to Austria and I found myself thinking back to some bottles I got from Callahan at some place in NYC. I couldn't remember the name of them, but they were GVs and Rieslings in a green bottle with (I think) a dark green label. So I thought I'd find out if anyone on Wine Therapy remembered what they were. Alas, WT is beaten into the ground, ostensibly by albanians with a surfeit of idle time on their hands, but I digress. So if anyone remembers Robert's pet Austrian producer of GVs and Reislings, I'd love to find out (although the Politburo's tardy attention to my account request may well render the issue moot.)

Anyway, it's interesting to be back. The insider shorthand here is extensive and it's going to take me a while before I grok everything.

In any event, I look forward to conversing with others who share my affliction.

He was into them, across the board. The pitch I remember was for Salomon, though they do not have a green label.

It was probably either when he was at Crossroads, or Garnet. If I had to hazard a guess, I think it was either Nigl or Nikolaihof.

Btw, welcome back, Mark.

James Yancy Callahan, of course. (And little Florence Palestine.)

Welcome home, Mark L. There really isn't that much lingo; we only barely have the power of speech around here.

Was it Nikolaihof?

Alzinger was the one I was thinking of. Thank you. And I also loved the Nigls. God, I hope she spent some time at one of these places.

Nice to see some familiar faces.
