I think the variety is Silver Laced Polish, which appears to be an exhibition breed. mcmurrayhatchery.com has some interesting information in the quick facts for Silver Polish chickens.
 
Alas, no idea, Sharon (as you know, barnyard is not my forte); all I care about is looks, not substance (unless it's Selosse).

Wow, thanks for the site, Steve. Amazed to learn that their eggs, also, can come blue or green. So Dr. Seuss wasn't off his rocker with that whole green eggs and ham thing.

It seems to me I remember a Doctor Seuss book about that kind of thing. It worked for Horton, but I'm not sure it's a long term solution for hatching one's offspring. There are , of course, about the bird species who lay their eggs in other species' nests, so maybe these are those kind of chickens.

Good point, Mark. I hadn't thought of that.

My father, when he was in college in Washington state, worked for a summer on a turkey farm and had to clean up turkey pens. He had stories that I still remember.

But it's true, the idea of corralling them is pertinent.

Oswaldo-Question, what do the percentages in your Arnot-Roberts TN for Trousseau represent? a Different clones of Trousseau? They don't sound like California vineyards. Interested because i'm contemplating purchasing several bottles.
