At 20, this has become quite beautiful and as good a Cabernet based wine as I have tasted in several years.
Too bad Patrick has left the building . . .
Best, Jim

Jim, As I have mentioned before, I always appreciate your reports on this bottling.

Finally tonight I was motivated enough to pull a bottle. And, yes, it is just as fine as you promise. Nice pairing with (BGE) grilled steak, fried sweet potatoes, and oven roasted vegetables (squash, scallions, egg plant, etc.).

As fine as it truly was, it somehow still doesn't quite measure up to a good Rhone or Burgundy.

Patrick is missed in the online community. Where is he these days?

. . . . . Pete

Pete,
I appreciate your opinion on this bottling.
You're wrong, but I appreciate it.
Oh yeah!
Best, Jim

I bought a few of these a while ago and they were all sublime with plenty in the tank. I recently tried a 2009 and was disappointed. I think David Ramey consulted on this vintage. Not bad but tastes like a generic CA cab. Maybe it will improve, maybe not.
