2014 CRB Sauvignon #2

My God is this good. Sublime with chicken of the woods mushroom and tomato sauce over pork tenderloin.
The world needs more wine like this.

Love it too, but this is a big boy. Or at least noticeably bigger than '13.

We ran into Jim Diven buying a couple bottles at Vif, and the Mme and I were moved to share a bottle. It is so good, and calming down just a bit. We bought her last bottle to bring home as well.

drank one last night; nice. Almost California-like ripeness, and yet fine and refreshing.

Are you claiming good wine can be made in California?

My apologies for the politburos policy on emoticons.

Brad, what I have been buying (and enjoying) from Vif has been the 2013.
Shawn keeps saying they will get a smidgen of the 2014 wines, but it seems things are very backward here in South Alaska. No Pepiere yet either...

Oh, yeah, hey, 2013. We're drinking that extra as I write!

Each one has been a bit different, in a fun way.

Thanks for the tip Marc. Now that i've stopped in and bought what little she would sell me, Vif has 2014 Pif, Gamay, and Sauvignon #2. And also 2014 Pepiere 'classique' and Briords. She didn't have much Briords however.

Yup. We were in town Friday and heard a very inspiring talk by Bryan Stevenson. He is a true American hero for me. He has a great TED talk that is worth checking out if you haven't heard it. We stopped by VIF on the way out of town. I picked up my 14 Briords and regular Pepiere (which is a very fine drink at the current moment), and some 14 Coudert. I asked Sean to try and get me some Montesecondo rosso and ended up snagging the last two bottles in Seattle, lucky me. I love that stuff. Also tried a bottle of Foradori Manzoni which was interesting, especially for the textures. Shawn has a bunch of Foradori in stock. I was super encouraged to see the place completely full on a dreary Friday afternoon at 2 pm. They deserve to do really well. She was pouring CRB Pif and Pepiere Gras Mouton by the glass! You locals are spoiled, I'd be there way too much if I lived in town.

The Briords is supposedly allocated now.
If only Joe D was alive to see one of his Muscadet become a cult wine on allocation.
