Sit down, boy

King Crimson, Larks' Tongue in Aspic. Original 1973 Atlantic pressing, George Piros ("Pecko Duck") mastering. Just saying.

Presages metal. You can even imagine Adrian Belew nodding towards Discipline, even though it's Fripp himself on guitar. A difficult and beautiful work.

I am willing to guess that on poor sources this album sounds a bit scary, but on a well sorted LP12 it is sublime.

Enjoyed with a '13 Thivin BV rose. We actually had a bottle of this (not sure vintage) back in '08 with Msr. Geoffray himself, enjoying a fine eastern view as we watched the sunset light fall on his vineyards.

It's terrific. Sophisticated. Honestly, it's my favorite of what they make, along with the Brouilly.
