Opened on a whim, simply a wonderful bottle of wine. This used to be my go to Pineau d'Aunis. What happened to the wines? I don't see them in the U.S. anymore and they are even hard to find outside the U.S. Given how well this showed I wish I would have bought much more to cellar.

I was talking with someone in the natural wine world recently and for some reason, this winemaker and his wines came up. Apparently he is now more focused on wines he is making in the south (in l'Hérault).

Also, the person mentioned something about him just getting lucky with the very old pineau d'aunis vines, and that he's not that good of a winemaker.

I haven't had them in some time....
 
I liked the 2011 Verre des Poétes a lot back in June and plan on letting my other bottles age a little longer. Seems like there's going to be a 2013. I sort of remember reading there was no 2012.
