Man, you want notes? What ever happened to a picture being worth a thousand words? Fine, fine, here you go. These are the wines from left to right.
2014 Broc Cellars Love Red
This is the third vintage of this wine. A deep and soulful expression of Carignan that is playing well with the other varieties that make up this blend.
Disclosure: this is a wine I sell.
2014 Broc Cellars Love White
This is a blend of Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier that has a beautiful dried orange/bitter almond note. This wine had a great mouth feel and cried out to be enjoyed with a meal.
Disclosure: this is a wine I sell.
2000 Ridge Montebello
This was the last of the three bottles I bought on release. The most assertive part of this blend seemed to be the Cabernet Franc. There was an iodine quality to the wine that bordered on the unpleasant. My tastes have changed a bit since I bought this bottle, and I think I would have enjoyed it more four or five years ago.
2012 Puffeney Trosseau
Elegance in a glass is what I thought when I tasted this. Everything about this wine excites me: the weight, the color, the finish. For me, this fills one of wine’s chief purposes, providing great physical and aesthetic pleasure.
2013 Sandlands Trosseau
I just want more! The price is great and it is fun to drink. When I pour this for people, regardless of their knowledge of wine, they seem to smile.
2012 Ronco Severo Sauvigon
Years ago, Florida Jim spoiled me with some Vatan, and I never really enjoyed Sauvignon Blanc after tasting the Vatan. This one is from the Fruli region, and the grapes are left to ferment on the skins for a few days, but it is not an orange wine. It has excellent acidity and a hint of white flowers on the nose. This is a pretty wine. Imported by Rinascimento Wine Co
Idlewild 2013 Dolcetto
I like all of the wines from this producer. This one has a cherry quality to it and these lovely tannins that make it very easy to drink.

2013 Rhys Family Farm Vineyard Pinot Noir
This wine has a future and I will be there to meet it at a later time. like someone you are attracted to, but the timing isn’t right, and then it is, and you are happy you waited.
2011 Josep-Maria Vendrell Miloca Carinyena
This is 100% Samso (Carignan). It has a deep red color that hints of a country wine, but what is is in the glass reflects a sense of refinement, like a country squire. I loved the round, pleasant tannins on the finish.
Disclosure: this is a wine I sell.
2014 Camp Chardonnay
Here we have a straight forward Chardonnay without pretense that tastes like the grape, not like the barrel. It reminds me of that old Jim Croce song “If I Could Save Time in a Bottle” because when I tasted this it made me think of Chardonnay from the old days, before it was everywhere and began to all taste alike. This one is light, crisp and clean.
