In which SFJoe gives stellar advice on a Sicilian white

What do folks think of the COS Rami? For $20, I think it is pretty damn nice.

Well, it's Inzolia 50%, Grecanico 50%. I have no idea about Sicilian Grapes, but this wine reminds me of a more complex version of an unoaked Albarino.

It retails for $16-$20 and it reminds me that not all white wines need to be hipster $100/bottle murky wines in order to be different and nice.

its been a while for me with the Rami, but I remember it having a bit of round oxidation, in every nice way. minerally, too...

I very much enjoyed the 2002 at lunch today alongside oricchiette with broccoli and sausages. It was certainly interesting and good, but not beyond that. No comparison to white Burgundy evident, except perhaps Mconnais. Minerality with some richness but still firmness.

Ditto with the 2004 (notes to be posted soon). Definately NOT Burgundy, a bit oxidative, as is the trend with hipster Italian whites these days, and while nice, I don't think I would buy it at the $20 price any day soon.

It's true that Chris does sometimes look like Majel. Weird.

I think of Malkovich as a Ferengi, personally.

Yes, Chris bears a strong resemblance to Majel.

Malkovich is way too tall to be a Ferengi. Maybe an Andorian though.
