As a thank you, some guests have sent me a box of four wines from Truchard. Research indicates that they were one of the first folks to buy property in Carneros, and they have a lot of it now, and they bottle a lot of wines in addition to the hometown fave.
Tonight it was the Truchard 2012 Cabernet Franc - this drinks like a good basic Chinon, absolutely recognizable as cab franc, cool dark red fruit and green peppers, no noticeable cooperage, gulpable and good.
I'll update this thread with the other three as I get to them.
