The Year in Wine

The Spec has got it all wrapped up for you. Highlights:
- a port at #16 and a madeira at #24 (I suppose it doesn't make sense to separate the fortified wines into their own list given the high octane of most modern warm-climate wines)
- five of the wines are 2010 Brunello
- the only N. Rhone wine at #77 (...and it's a white Hermitage)
- Ganevat at #99

It's almost funny.

good to see that they kept it rational with the most expensive wine on the list at the top. Everyone needs goals.

I think it's great. As a Johnny-come-lately to the goodness of Morgon, thank to Levi's birthday Morgonotopia, I am eager for the drawbridge to be raised. And as a early adopter of the goodness and greatness of the Wachau & Kamptal, I am thrilled by their wine #70. Almost as good as Obi-Wan telling folks that Prager, Knoll & Alzinger are not the droids you want.

Robb Report just featured Lapierre Morgon on their list of holiday wines so...

...so three months from now we're going to see articles in New York and Crain's about how hard it is to open a waxed bottle.
