Technical Update

There are no frames

I wasn't suggesting that there were, only that I saved and reposted (to my site) some stuff from those days, and even in the quickview form there was some stripping of codes required to make it postable elsewhere. Pretty much every post, if I recall, has a header and footer that will choke other sites. But since most of them are the same, a good batch search/replace will do it. It's just a matter of figuring out what those strings are...and then we, too, can enjoy the two-character lines and Tom Troiano's unsuccessful foray into the world of pseudonymity.

Ah, the clumsy joys of the M. Bater incident. Still has the power to stir mixed emotions, even at this late date.

Sadly, though, Olaf's House O' Laffs turns out to be a dead link. Is nothing sacred? Yet the Punahou malasadas recipe is a special consolation, now that we have one of our best in charge of us all.

Maybe I'll play with taking out the headers and footers, see if that helps.

Many thanks to the Politburo's Commisariat for their technical prowess and Solomon-like wisdom in conflict resolution. As Jay said: Hail Eris!

You're the bestest Politburo ever!

I'm inspired to surge on and increase my output to suprahuman levels!

-Eden (and maybe next year, if we're good, we can have little html thingy buttons that will enable us to link to things and italicize them without having to know like, cobol or fortran or something)

True.

Xinha does a lot of that for me. And it kinda previews, but not really.

Joe, go to that other place and post smileys and emoticons to your heart's content. The Jackalopes over there seem to love them. Then come back here and post something interesting (or funny). Horses for courses, you know.

Awww, isn't the Politburo just the cutest thing you ever saw?

what's that supposed to be? the wrong end of the horse?

I think he's wearing a bow tie.

Wow - I fixed my italicization mistake without having to post it first! Don't you just want to pinch the Politburo's little red cheeks! Sniff, they've grown so much...

OK, then how should I be emoted as a result of his spiffy bow tie? This is all so counterintuitive and difficult.

BTW, congratulations on the italics!

Thats my kibosh emoticon! I go:

:oX

It works great when I am texting with my BFF Rose.

1. My just-posted RTN: hasn't moved to the bottom.

2. For an initial post, it appears I can only preview it once. If I check the box to preview from a preview, the browser says it can't find "connect".

Comrade,

Thank you for the bug report. Clearly, things aren't yet working as we'd wished. The Wine Disorder People's Technical Services Commissariat is investigating and will report to us shortly with its recommendations on how to remedy this situation. Please bear with us in this time of struggle.

Advancing a peaceful transition to technical purity,

The Politburo

You know, now that I think of it he might have been talking about ox colons. Perhaps a stuffed derma variant?

I can preview multiple times from Firefox 3.0.5

Comrades,

The WDPTSC has presented its findings, and we are pleased to report that recent issues relating to the aforementioned glorious technical advances have been resolved.

However, in order to enable multiple previewing across browsers, substantial restructuring has been done to the preview function. As a result of this, we cannot rule out the occurrence of unforeseen counterrevolutionary complications.

Please keep us informed as to any further related technical issues. You, the denizens of Wine Disorder, are our eyes and ears.

Auxiliary technical battalions arise, to lead the people towards a bug-free day!

The Politburo
