Don't forget our former participant Blackwood is in Nashville, so you may find some help through him. Last year he and I went to Husk. Which was perfectly delicious and a fine time, although it is Charleston SC food in Nashville, which may or may not satisfy your urges to be locally authentic (urges I did not feel, as someone who eats neither barbecue nor chicken).

The original Husk is in Charleston and Sean Brock is based in Charleston. And I'm no expert but I believe the food is more heavily based on Carolina low country cuisine, which doesn't just mean Charleston, but it definitely doesn't mean Nashville.

To be clear, Brad is talking about some kind of smoked meat product. Barbecue is something else and not really a Nashville thing.
